California Cemeteries, California Historic Places, IOOF
Faithfully serving our community since 1853.
The Odd Fellows Burns Supper was a smashing success! Sold out, packed house, beautiful surroundings, everyone looked gorgeous, the speakers were amazing, the bagpiper was nothing short of mesmerizing, and the food was on point! But the best part was the guests who came to support the good work Sonora IOOF does year round.
Senior Citizens were invited to bring their Holiday gifts to the IOOF Lodge in Sonora and have them wrapped for free. We offered Cookies, Coffee, Tea or Hot Cocoa while they waited.
Trick or Treat Street
Little ghosts and goblins are invited to trick or treat in Historic Downtown Sonora at participating merchants. IOOF Sonora members joins in the fun by giving away candy and FLT.
The Sonora Odd Fellows 2nd Annual Living History Tour
Participants watched history come alive at our 2nd Annual Living History Tour! Our historic cemetery is the final resting place of some of our community's founding members, and folks that led fascinating lives. Costumed tour guides gave information about the cemetery & its residents, and highlighted some of the most interesting things about the cemetery on the way around, stopping at certain locations where costumed actors gave first-hand accounts of the deceased. It was a smashing success! Proceeds will fund an upcoming Pumpkin Carving Day for Tuolumne County children, and to help with the care and maintenance of the historic cemetery.
Odd Fellows Sno-Cone Service
Magic of the Night happened to fall on one of the hottest days of the year this August, and the Sonora Odd Fellows were ready to help all those people who were good enough to come out and support local business. We rolled up our sleeves and made sno-cones available in a variety of flavors and gave them to children and families for free. The smiles on the faces of those we served was payment enough!
